MANDATORY POST!

1. I did learn a lot in this class. Although a lot of it was a little stressful I really enjoyed the podcast and the google docs as well as twitter. A lot of what I learned is going to help me so much in the classroom with my students.

2. There was nothing in this class that I would have liked to learn that I didn't get to learn. It was a little too much with my other classes.

3. There is nothing that I wished I hadn't learned it was just having to make all the accounts.

4.I was excited about using the blogs. I think that they are so useful. I think that technology is exciting because it is changing everyday.

5.There wasn't really anything that was hard it was just a little overwhelming at times.

6. I was not board at all in the class.

7. The only thing that I would change is that we could have fouced more on the age of the kids that we would be teaching with the things that we have learned.

8.I think that my teachnolgy literate level is good.

9.I think that i will maintain my teachnology literacy with the things that I'm learning and keeping in touch with my class mates.

I have read all of these and can't believe that teachers are actually doing things like that in a classroom. It amazes me that the teachers think that they can get away with it. Teachers need to inspire there kids and introduce them to technology in a good way and show them how useful it can be to them. Also how it can introduce them to much more like other teachers and cultures around the world.
The teachers that are not using technology in a good way and not influencing there students need to be fired. Teachers should be thinking of ways to use technology and other methods to help there students learn new things.

This blog was about a blog page that had different gadgets on it. It also had on the page a section that talked about different ways to communicate and like the phone or a computer. Like using twitter or email. Also facebook was also talked about in the blog.

I think that professional blogs are a great way to go because you are able to see the person page and get a better understand of that person. Also you can see there references and see what they can do with technology. I think that teachers should have a blog because it is a great way for students and parents to see what the child is doing in the classroom. Also if the student is sick they can look up there homework for that week.

It also shows that the teacher or new teacher is willing to take the time to give a professional page so that the person that is think of hiring them can see the page and see how they present them self's. This is a new century and things are changing the way we do things and people are using the computer even more. So I think that a professional blog is a great idea for anyone no matter what they are going to do in there career.

I think that it is improtant for kids to have there work on the blog. It opens them to a new and exciting things and introduces them to other people that live around the world so that they can learn. New things about a different state or country. Also what kind of technology is out there and what they are coming out with next. Here are a couple ways. Kaia

Dr. Wesch started his video talking about by talking about you tube and how it has influnced people to upload silly videos. And how students are being coming less interseted with school. It's becoming harder for teachers to keep kids attentions with other things out in the media like American Idol shows instead of shows that they are going to learn something from.
I think that it is going to be a lot harder for new teachers to keep kids attentions with technology becoming where you can take it with you where ever you go. I'm not saying that technology is a bad thing but some students if they have a computer in front of them at school. Chances are they are not really listening to the lecture that much. There doing something else.
Like playing cards or on a website looking at things. I think as technology gets more advance its going to be a lot harder to keep kids attention. Then it was when you couldn't bring your computer with you to class much less get on the internet.

Alex is filled with all kinds of information for students and teachers. It is such a good site. Alex is place where teachers can get information about different subjects and website. Where they can go to find out different things like there is a workshop that Alex provides. Alex also provides a lesson plan place where you can go to help you with your lesson plans.There is also a search that Alex has where you can go look for different topics.

Alex also has a place where there is a online library for reports or a topic that you need information on. Alex is a great site for students as well as teachers.It is safe and it has good information that nobody can change. I think that Alex is a great tool. I can't wait to use it in my future class with my students. I think that more people should use Alex.


Courses

Alex provides so much information so that students and teachers can use it in the classroom. If gives teachers the tools to exceed in the the classroom.It also gives the teacher a place where he or she can do projects or other things. You could also use podcast to hear lectures. Alex is such a great tool for the 21st century.

In conclusion I think that Alex is a great site and I can't wait to use it one day in my classroom. It is filled with so much useful things. I can't wait to share it with my students.It's not only good for teachers but students also. This is such a great site.

ACCESS


Access provides so much information out there for students and teachers. It was set up for teachers so that they could communicate with there students. It was started on October 1, 2005. For students that schools didn't have AP classes or basic class for students to take like physics, calculus just some of the examples. The Governor of Alabama Bob Riley and the help of this staff put this all together.

It also gives high school students a higher quality of learning. Also to provide a high school student with additional opportunities. It also gives the students a place to learn new and harder things that may not be taught in a classroom. Or the school may not have the funding to have that class. I think that access is a wonderful tool. I can't wait to use it for my future students. Also to give them the option of it.



Distance


Distance is so that teachers can interact with students in a whole new way. This gives the student a chance to experiance new teachnology and how far it has come. Teachers can us this as a way for students to take quizes, test, homework and the list goes on. This gives students a chance to learn in a different way.So maybe in they will enjoy learning and want to learn other subjects.
This also helps teachers interact with other students and the teachers are always learning new things with the students. This makes the teacher as well as the student more arounded. Because there is always going to be something new and exciting to teach childern how to do and make it more enjoy able for the students to learn. Because everything is changing around us mine as well change with it. And learning is changing as well because there are new and exciting ways to teach childern.

This post is about a little girl and her father.The father that lives in Qatar was reading a book called the last child. In the book it talked about the importance of kids being able to explore the outside. The Father asked his little girl to take a camera around with her to capture nature and all the wonderful things. It has to offer. So that his little girl would be able to experience new things outside. She took the camera everywhere she went. She was so excited about taking pictures and being outside.

To the fathers amazement the little girl had a lot of fun with the project. So the dad put all the pictures together so that the little girl could see all of them. They both decided to make it into a video and post it on the Internet so that other people could see all the wonderful pictures that Kaia took. To the fathers amazement the video was a success. It had many post talking about the pictures and how wonderful people thought they where. Until one it was a class in Missouri in the 8th grade that made a video to thank Kaia for the wonderful pictures that she had taken. The 8th grade class and Kaia still talk through skype and interact with her. Half way around the world. Its amazing what technology can do and what is going to happen next.

This whole video started as a great way to show is daughter what beautiful things are around her. I really think that everyone needs to slow down and take a look around them so that they can see what a beautiful place. That we all live in. Because you never know when you might think of something like this to do with a friend or a daughter or son. Also technology is giving us such new ways to talk to people half way around the world. I can't wait to see how technology is going to help me with my students. Learn about new and exciting places.

In the video it talked about many skills like judgement, play, multitasking and other ones just to name a few. I think that I have a few of these skills like Play, Judgement, and multitasking. I think that each of these skills plays a part in or lives everyday. As students or teachers each of us use some of these skills each day to write papers to make sure the sources are credible. I think that each of these skills will be effective as we move on in to the years.

I will require the others by just trying use them in everyday life. I think that each of these skills is very important and will be with us in whatever Field that I wish to go into.I think that each of these is important. People everywhere use these skills every day. They are teaching young people about each of these skills and showing them how they can use them in everyday life. It is also teaching them how to blog. Also how to use these skills or see what skills they already have. Also to learn exciting things and tools that will later in life be so useful.I think that this project is a wonderful thing for young people.

It gives them a chance to see what tools can help them later in life be successful. Also to do their jobs better. And to have an over all view of what tools can help. Them in the real world. Also at school and college. Also to be able to better understand these tools to be able to be very successful adults.

I think that the video was amazing to be able to give a student the freedom to explore the web about there subject. The are going to learn more and by interacting. The students are getting more out of it. There are learning so much more by figuring it out by them self's first. But if they need help a teacher is there to help them if they need it.

I think that the networked needs a teacher because not all students are going to be that adventurous. I think that a teacher is need to give some guidance or if they have a question about something. Then there is someone there to help. I thought it was a great video. As a future teacher I think that it is great for students in middle school on up to college.

I think that it makes the student more arounded and exposes them the new things. Also a different way of teaching that might make it easier for them to learn. If they are doing it instead of reading it out of a book. As a soon to be teacher I think that it is a great thing. I can not wait to see what other teaching tools they come up with or other people try to make students learn in a new way.

Richard Miller talked about using technology as a teaching tool instead of a pencil or hand writing it. Being able to show the student visual instead of on paper. Keeping there attention with losing it throughout the lecture. He also talks about that it is important for teachers to inspire students to learn new and exciting things that are happening. Dr.Miller also talks about the importunates of teachers to be up to date with technology.

Also that the teachers are welling to go that extra mile so that they can teach there students in fun and exciting ways.Even though technology is changing everyday. A teacher could spend just a few minutes a day learning something new. The video was really good I enjoyed watching it. It is amzing the things that we can do with technology.

I think that I could write with mulitmedia. As a future teacher I'm really excited about the teachnology that I will be using in the classroom to teach my childern. I think with the way teachnology is growing and changing everyday. I don't think that students will have a problem knowing how to work or use it. i'm excited to see where else technology takes teachers in the classroom.

Well I think ITunes has done it again not only have they found a way to download hundreds even thousands of songs a a little piece of technology. They are incorporated college class as well. That is just amazing to think that they can do that. ITunes is about several colleges getting together. To create a place where students can go to download lectures, music, or even different languages to learn.

It is just amazing to think that students can do that. So they can take the lecture with them to hear it again or even use it as a studying tool. This is a great way for students to be more excited about school. Also learn even more about there subject in a whole new way. I can not wait to use this in one of my classes as a tool for studying a new subject. I can honestly say technology is changing everyday and they are coming out with even better ways of teaching.

At Duke University they have come out with a new way of studying. That takes technology to another level. Duke started a program last year that involves Ipods. Duke is using the Ipods in the classroom as a tool for teaching and learning. They have over 1,200 students using them. They are using the Ipods to download lectures or a different language to learn or even music like Jazz.

Duke has since then doubled the number of classes that are using the Ipods as a teaching tool from over 42 classes. So the students can listen to the lectures over again to make sure they have the material. They can even use them as a studying guide for a test.I think that it is a wonderful idea. They are bring technology to another level. To help students even more. So if the student is sick they can still download the lecture and listen to it that is just amazing.

I went through Dr.Christie's website and it was very useful there is a lot of information on there that can help teachers. It can be useful to teachers as a source of ideas of new ways to teach material or even new topics. It is very useful for up coming or present teachers or even students. There was so much information on the web site. It gives you so many places that students and teachers can go for information.
It also talked about technology in the classroom how useful it is. The section that I thought that was the most helpful was the technology section for education. It gave many sites and ideas about how to incorporate technology in the classroom. Like with blogs, or pod casting and even using your ipod to help you learn even more about your subject like being able to download a class to it so you can hear it or even see it again.
I would defiantly tell someone about this site because of how useful it is with all the information on it. As well as all the tools that would be helpful to a student or even a teacher to help her or him in the classroom. I really enjoyed looking at her website. The NPR Podcast on wikipedia

It talked about that how Griffith has made this scanner that can run through wikipedia and see where people have tampered with information. They talked about that it was a good source and that the information on it was good. If a person can go on and change information how can it be a good source. A lot of my teachers have said don't use wikipedia because isn't not a good source for information.

The podcast on Wikipedia is about Virgil Griffith how went on wikipedia and changes to it about how much Walmart employees make. Also how can this site be trusted as a source of information. I do agree that it has a lot of information out there about certain topics. If you can go on to a site and change words I would have to say that it might not be a very good site to use as a source.

I mean think about it someone who knows nothing about a topic can go on it and change it. And they are trying to convince people that this is a good site to use. I think not I mean really. Most people are not going to think very highly of that site. I know that I would not use it. The information in not that reliable and anyone can go in and change information.

That tells you that it is not a good source. I really don't think that wikipedia can be trusted or is a reliable source for information. So I would not recommend this as a place to go find information about a topic or anything else. It went on to say that you can change and it shows where the change came from. So here is my question to u do u think that it is a good source?

I have to tell you that was the most inspirational speech that I have ever heard. As I was listening to it I got the impression that he was going to be talking about the programs that he has done ,and a little bit about his life. He speech got the attention of the audience and keep it throughout his speech. I really liked how he used props throughout his lecture.He was so inspirational to his students as well as other people.

He really did achieve all of this goals in this life. The virtual was amazing I think that was the coolest thing that I have ever seen. The things that his students came up with it was just unbelievable.I do agree with him if you make learning fun and not having to read from a book students are more likely to retain the information as well as have fun with it. And the way he got the attention was amazing because it left you wanting more from the lecture. He also got to work with Disney on a virtual world. The movie was called Aladdin. He helped with the game for it the magic carpet ride.

I have to say I started to cry throughout the lecture it moved me so much. I comes from my grandmother had the same cancer. She was such a fighter like the professor It made me think of her as he was talking and what she went through. She out lived when she was suppose to not be with us and then things finally got bad and she did past. It was really great that he got to do those things and make the goals in his life.

It was kinda cool at the end of the lecture. He made the lecture for his kids so that they never loose site of there dreams. And if you truly want something to happen you just have to fight for it. It's like from some of Disney's films "Your Dreams do Come True". Not a lot of people can say that.

I do agree with him that we need to have technology in our lives. Especially if you are a teacher so that you can keep up with the new and exciting tools that are coming out to help you and your students learn even more. To help you become even more successful in what ever you decide to be when you grow up.Because so much of it is changing every day and that there are new and better ways of teaching the students. It's like what he said in his blog that if you don't know that much about technology. Like back then it would be the same as not knowing how to read or write.

So much of our lives revolves around technology from our phones that we talk on everyday to the phone like ON Star that can call for help if you get into an wreck in your car. Or the web cam on your computer that you talk to your friend or husband half away around the world. It helps us write papers neatly. It helps us know whats going on half away around the world.

Technology is aways going to be a apart of our lives. And it's changing all the time. So I think that it is very important to have it and to know how it works and it doesn't have to take up your whole day just spend a little bit of time with it each day. It will make you a more rounded person and a little smarter. It can't hurt to know just a little bit more about technology.
