MANDATORY POST!

1. I did learn a lot in this class. Although a lot of it was a little stressful I really enjoyed the podcast and the google docs as well as twitter. A lot of what I learned is going to help me so much in the classroom with my students.

2. There was nothing in this class that I would have liked to learn that I didn't get to learn. It was a little too much with my other classes.

3. There is nothing that I wished I hadn't learned it was just having to make all the accounts.

4.I was excited about using the blogs. I think that they are so useful. I think that technology is exciting because it is changing everyday.

5.There wasn't really anything that was hard it was just a little overwhelming at times.

6. I was not board at all in the class.

7. The only thing that I would change is that we could have fouced more on the age of the kids that we would be teaching with the things that we have learned.

8.I think that my teachnolgy literate level is good.

9.I think that i will maintain my teachnology literacy with the things that I'm learning and keeping in touch with my class mates.

I have read all of these and can't believe that teachers are actually doing things like that in a classroom. It amazes me that the teachers think that they can get away with it. Teachers need to inspire there kids and introduce them to technology in a good way and show them how useful it can be to them. Also how it can introduce them to much more like other teachers and cultures around the world.
The teachers that are not using technology in a good way and not influencing there students need to be fired. Teachers should be thinking of ways to use technology and other methods to help there students learn new things.

This blog was about a blog page that had different gadgets on it. It also had on the page a section that talked about different ways to communicate and like the phone or a computer. Like using twitter or email. Also facebook was also talked about in the blog.

I think that professional blogs are a great way to go because you are able to see the person page and get a better understand of that person. Also you can see there references and see what they can do with technology. I think that teachers should have a blog because it is a great way for students and parents to see what the child is doing in the classroom. Also if the student is sick they can look up there homework for that week.

It also shows that the teacher or new teacher is willing to take the time to give a professional page so that the person that is think of hiring them can see the page and see how they present them self's. This is a new century and things are changing the way we do things and people are using the computer even more. So I think that a professional blog is a great idea for anyone no matter what they are going to do in there career.

I think that it is improtant for kids to have there work on the blog. It opens them to a new and exciting things and introduces them to other people that live around the world so that they can learn. Dr. Wesch started his video talking about by talking about you tube and how it has influnced people to upload silly videos. And how students are being coming less interseted with school. It's becoming harder for teachers to keep kids attentions with other things out in the media like American Idol shows instead of shows that they are going to learn something from.
I think that it is going to be a lot harder for new teachers to keep kids attentions with technology becoming where you can take it with you where ever you go. I'm not saying that technology is a bad thing but some students if they have a computer in front of them at school. Chances are they are not really listening to the lecture that much. There doing something else.
Like playing cards or on a website looking at things. I think as technology gets more advance its going to be a lot harder to keep kids attention. Then it was when you couldn't bring your computer with you to class much less get on the internet.

Alex is filled with all kinds of information for students and teachers. It is such a good site. Alex is place where teachers can get information about different subjects and website. Where they can go to find out different things like there is a workshop that Alex provides. Alex also provides a lesson plan place where you can go to help you with your lesson plans.There is also a search that Alex has where you can go look for different topics.

Alex also has a place where there is a online library for reports or a topic that you need information on. Alex is a great site for students as well as teachers.It is safe and it has good information that nobody can change. I think that Alex is a great tool. I can't wait to use it in my future class with my students. I think that more people should use Alex.

Alex provides so much information so that students and teachers can use it in the classroom. If gives teachers the tools to exceed in the the classroom.It also gives the teacher a place where he or she can do projects or other things. You could also use podcast to hear lectures. Alex is such a great tool for the 21st century.

In conclusion I think that Alex is a great site and I can't wait to use it one day in my classroom. It is filled with so much useful things. I can't wait to share it with my students.It's not only good for teachers but students also. This is such a great site.

ACCESS


Access provides so much information out there for students and teachers. It was set up for teachers so that they could communicate with there students. It was started on October 1, 2005. For students that schools didn't have AP classes or basic class for students to take like physics, calculus just some of the examples. The Governor of Alabama Bob Riley and the help of this staff put this all together.

It also gives high school students a higher quality of learning. Also to provide a high school student with additional opportunities. It also gives the students a place to learn new and harder things that may not be taught in a classroom. Or the school may not have the funding to have that class. I think that access is a wonderful tool. I can't wait to use it for my future students. Also to give them the option of it.



Distance


Distance is so that teachers can interact with students in a whole new way. This gives the student a chance to experiance new teachnology and how far it has come. Teachers can us this as a way for students to take quizes, test, homework and the list goes on. This gives students a chance to learn in a different way.So maybe in they will enjoy learning and want to learn other subjects.
This also helps teachers interact with other students and the teachers are always learning new things with the students. This makes the teacher as well as the student more arounded. Because there is always going to be something new and exciting to teach childern how to do and make it more enjoy able for the students to learn. Because everything is changing around us mine as well change with it. And learning is changing as well because there are new and exciting ways to teach childern.

This post is about a little girl and her father.The father that lives in Qatar was reading a book called the last child. In the book it talked about the importance of kids being able to explore the outside. The Father asked his little girl to take a camera around with her to capture nature and all the wonderful things. It has to offer. So that his little girl would be able to experience new things outside. She took the camera everywhere she went. She was so excited about taking pictures and being outside.

To the fathers amazement the little girl had a lot of fun with the project. So the dad put all the pictures together so that the little girl could see all of them. They both decided to make it into a video and post it on the Internet so that other people could see all the wonderful pictures that Kaia took. To the fathers amazement the video was a success. It had many post talking about the pictures and how wonderful people thought they where. Until one it was a class in Missouri in the 8th grade that made a video to thank Kaia for the wonderful pictures that she had taken. The 8th grade class and Kaia still talk through skype and interact with her. Half way around the world. Its amazing what technology can do and what is going to happen next.

This whole video started as a great way to show is daughter what beautiful things are around her. I really think that everyone needs to slow down and take a look around them so that they can see what a beautiful place. That we all live in. Because you never know when you might think of something like this to do with a friend or a daughter or son. Also technology is giving us such new ways to talk to people half way around the world. I can't wait to see how technology is going to help me with my students. Learn about new and exciting places.

In the video it talked about many skills like judgement, play, multitasking and other ones just to name a few. I think that I have a few of these skills like Play, Judgement, and multitasking. I think that each of these skills plays a part in or lives everyday. As students or teachers each of us use some of these skills each day to write papers to make sure the sources are credible. I think that each of these skills will be effective as we move on in to the years.

I will require the others by just trying use them in everyday life. I think that each of these skills is very important and will be with us in whatever Field that I wish to go into.I think that each of these is important. People everywhere use these skills every day. They are teaching young people about each of these skills and showing them how they can use them in everyday life. It is also teaching them how to blog. Also how to use these skills or see what skills they already have. Also to learn exciting things and tools that will later in life be so useful.I think that this project is a wonderful thing for young people.

It gives them a chance to see what tools can help them later in life be successful. Also to do their jobs better. And to have an over all view of what tools can help. Them in the real world. I think that the video was amazing to be able to give a student the freedom to explore the web about there subject. The are going to learn more and by interacting. The students are getting more out of it. There are learning so much more by figuring it out by them self's first. But if they need help a teacher is there to help them if they need it.

I think that the networked needs a teacher because not all students are going to be that adventurous. I think that a teacher is need to give some guidance or if they have a question about something. Then there is someone there to help. I thought it was a great video. As a future teacher I think that it is great for students in middle school on up to college.

I think that it makes the student more arounded and exposes them the new things. Also a different way of teaching that might make it easier for them to learn. If they are doing it instead of reading it out of a book. As a soon to be teacher I think that it is a great thing. I can not wait to see what other teaching tools they come up with or other people try to make students learn in a new way.

Richard Miller talked about using technology as a teaching tool instead of a pencil or hand writing it. Being able to show the student visual instead of on paper. Keeping there attention with losing it throughout the lecture. He also talks about that it is important for teachers to inspire students to learn new and exciting things that are happening. Dr.Miller also talks about the importunates of teachers to be up to date with technology.

Also that the teachers are welling to go that extra mile so that they can teach there students in fun and exciting ways.Even though technology is changing everyday. A teacher could spend just a few minutes a day learning something new. The video was really good I enjoyed watching it. It is amzing the things that we can do with technology.

I think that I could write with mulitmedia. As a future teacher I'm really excited about the teachnology that I will be using in the classroom to teach my childern. I think with the way teachnology is growing and changing everyday. I don't think that students will have a problem knowing how to work or use it. i'm excited to see where else technology takes teachers in the classroom.

Well I think ITunes has done it again not only have they found a way to download hundreds even thousands of songs a a little piece of technology. They are incorporated college class as well. That is just amazing to think that they can do that. ITunes is about several colleges getting together. To create a place where students can go to download lectures, music, or even different languages to learn.

It is just amazing to think that students can do that. So they can take the lecture with them to hear it again or even use it as a studying tool. This is a great way for students to be more excited about school. Also learn even more about there subject in a whole new way. I can not wait to use this in one of my classes as a tool for studying a new subject. I can honestly say technology is changing everyday and they are coming out with even better ways of teaching.

At Duke University they have come out with a new way of studying. That takes technology to another level. Duke started a program last year that involves Ipods. Duke is using the Ipods in the classroom as a tool for teaching and learning. They have over 1,200 students using them. They are using the Ipods to download lectures or a different language to learn or even music like Jazz.

Duke has since then doubled the number of classes that are using the Ipods as a teaching tool from over 42 classes. So the students can listen to the lectures over again to make sure they have the material. They can even use them as a studying guide for a test.I think that it is a wonderful idea. They are bring technology to another level. To help students even more. So if the student is sick they can still download the lecture and listen to it that is just amazing.

I went through Dr.Christie's website and it was very useful there is a lot of information on there that can help teachers. It can be useful to teachers as a source of ideas of new ways to teach material or even new topics. It is very useful for up coming or present teachers or even students. There was so much information on the web site. It gives you so many places that students and teachers can go for information.
It also talked about technology in the classroom how useful it is. The section that I thought that was the most helpful was the technology section for education. It gave many sites and ideas about how to incorporate technology in the classroom. Like with blogs, or pod casting and even using your ipod to help you learn even more about your subject like being able to download a class to it so you can hear it or even see it again.
I would defiantly tell someone about this site because of how useful it is with all the information on it. The NPR Podcast on wikipedia

It talked about that how Griffith has made this scanner that can run through wikipedia and see where people have tampered with information. They talked about that it was a good source and that the information on it was good. If a person can go on and change information how can it be a good source. A lot of my teachers have said don't use wikipedia because isn't not a good source for information.

The podcast on Wikipedia is about Virgil Griffith how went on wikipedia and changes to it about how much Walmart employees make. Also how can this site be trusted as a source of information. I do agree that it has a lot of information out there about certain topics. If you can go on to a site and change words I would have to say that it might not be a very good site to use as a source.

I mean think about it someone who knows nothing about a topic can go on it and change it. And they are trying to convince people that this is a good site to use. I think not I mean really. Most people are not going to think very highly of that site. I know that I would not use it. The information in not that reliable and anyone can go in and change information.

That tells you that it is not a good source. I really don't think that wikipedia can be trusted or is a reliable source for information. So I would not recommend this as a place to go find information about a topic or anything else. It went on to say that you can change and it shows where the change came from. So here is my question to u do u think that it is a good source?

I have to tell you that was the most inspirational speech that I have ever heard. As I was listening to it I got the impression that he was going to be talking about the programs that he has done ,and a little bit about his life. He speech got the attention of the audience and keep it throughout his speech. I really liked how he used props throughout his lecture.He was so inspirational to his students as well as other people.

He really did achieve all of this goals in this life. The virtual was amazing I think that was the coolest thing that I have ever seen. The things that his students came up with it was just unbelievable.I do agree with him if you make learning fun and not having to read from a book students are more likely to retain the information as well as have fun with it. And the way he got the attention was amazing because it left you wanting more from the lecture. He also got to work with Disney on a virtual world. The movie was called Aladdin. He helped with the game for it the magic carpet ride.

I have to say I started to cry throughout the lecture it moved me so much. I comes from my grandmother had the same cancer. She was such a fighter like the professor It made me think of her as he was talking and what she went through. She out lived when she was suppose to not be with us and then things finally got bad and she did past. It was really great that he got to do those things and make the goals in his life.

It was kinda cool at the end of the lecture. He made the lecture for his kids so that they never loose site of there dreams. And if you truly want something to happen you just have to fight for it. It's like from some of Disney's films "Your Dreams do Come True". Not a lot of people can say that.

I do agree with him that we need to have technology in our lives. Especially if you are a teacher so that you can keep up with the new and exciting tools that are coming out to help you and your students learn even more. To help you become even more successful in what ever you decide to be when you grow up.Because so much of it is changing every day and that there are new and better ways of teaching the students. It's like what he said in his blog that if you don't know that much about technology. Like back then it would be the same as not knowing how to read or write.

So much of our lives revolves around technology from our phones that we talk on everyday to the phone like ON Star that can call for help if you get into an wreck in your car. Or the web cam on your computer that you talk to your friend or husband half away around the world. It helps us write papers neatly. It helps us know whats going on half away around the world.

Technology is aways going to be a apart of our lives. And it's changing all the time. So I think that it is very important to have it and to know how it works and it doesn't have to take up your whole day just spend a little bit of time with it each day. It will make you a more rounded person and a little smarter. It can't hurt to know just a little bit more about technology.

The clip "A Vision of Students Today" was kinda an eye opener. It talked about college students that where getting there degrees and going to school. It talked about how much they study.It also talked about that there might not be jobs out there for the students that are about to graduate or in the process of. That is a scary thought to think that you go to school and finish college and get a degree and you might not have a job when you get done. It's like you take all this time and money to better yourself to make you a more rounded person. And stay in school and you might have a job. That's a little hard to think about.

Because most college kids are on loans or grants or even scholarships. I think that they did a great job showing the facts about it in a different way. It got my attention. It did show a lot of what college kids go throught. The studying late hours the not sleeping. And trying to stay somewhat sane throught the whole college expericence and not getting to stressed out about it.

"What I've learned This year" By Mr.McClung I thought that he gave a lot of very good tips. For example you can't set your standards too high and then punish them for not being able to keep up or learn the material.I really enjoyed his blog i found that it was useful and helpful. He also talked about communication and that it was really important and to be able to talk to your co-workers and your students. So that you can stop any problem before it happens.

He also talked about lesson plans that sometimes they may not go perfect but you just need to do what you can and not get to stressed about it. His blog is filled with helpful tips. He also talks about that technology is a great thing and that it's hard to keep up with because its changing every day and that you just do your best to stay with it and to keep learning.

He also said that you can never stop learning because there are coming out with new things every day. Everyday new and better things are coming out to help teachers teach and help students learn. I really enjoyed his blog. I thought it was very useful and had a lot of great tips in it for teachers.

The clip talked about that the podcasting was helping the children use there creativity. It also helped them use a higher level of thinking. The podcast are so useful to help the student if they are sick. They can still listen to the lecture and not get so behind in there school work. Or if they didn't understand something they can listen to it again so that they may understand it a little more.
The clip also talked that the parents enjoy it because they can know what is being taught in the classroom. All of the staff was excited about the podcast and thought it was a great tool. That should be in all schools. Also that the podcast can help so many ways they child can take it with them on there ipod and be able to listen again so that if they have a question they can ask it the next day in class. Also if the family goes on a vacation then the child wouldn't get behind in the lectures or class work.
Over all I really think that these podcast are neat and really useful in the classroom. Because you are able to take it with you instead of trying to write down notes as a teacher talks. You are able to listen more and then go back and listen to it again. Podcast are the next best thing besides the book for students.

Should all Teachers be Technology Literate?


The Video cast that I watched was allot better than having to listen to it. It Gave out good information about the subject. They all did a good job with the speaking being able to here them which was nice you where able to make out what they where saying. They did good bring in the subject of the video into the introduction. It was very smooth. Also that they brought good information to the video.

One of the things that I would change would be that they all kinda dress the same. Because it was one extreme to the other from a business suit to a t shirt. The other would be to have each of them talk more equally than just two people doing most of the talking. I think that they did a good job with both sides of the argument.

I thought that the video cast was good. There's allways going to be a few things that can be changed. But nothing can be perfect. I can't wait to make a video cast. I know that I'm going to learn allot just as the students in the video.

Podcasting : week 2 blogs

The clip talked about technology and tools in the class room. They talked about the I pod touch and all the different apps that can be used in the class room. The ipod touch has a recorder and things that you can use the Internet. Also that they where comparing it with a lab top. Also they talked about a pen that can record and also save the information that you have written with it. They also talked about that technology is great in the class room.

Also that we can't get to rapped up in that if there isn't technology in class room that students won't learn as much and that's not true. Also that there are so many teachers that are getting the students attention with out technology and the students are learning just as much if not more. Because the teacher is always going to be coming up with new way to teach and interact with the students. So that they get a better understanding. I think teachers should have a over all understanding of technology but that it should not be so stressed upon them to know every little detail about it.

It also talked that students where talking to other students around the world. About different languages they where being taught. It also talked about that students using google docs to say things about the teacher they have. Also that they talked about different ideas in the class room. Different things that you could use technology for in the class room.

The over all the clip was really good i enjoyed listening to it. I learned some things I didn't know before about the I pod touch. I do have to say that is one impressive device. To know that you can do so much with it to help you study by recording a lecture to having the Internet right there in your hand that's cool.

The audio clip talked about podcast how it works and and what it is about. Which computers are better for the video or the audio. If you decided to use the video than the Mac Computer works better. Because it is already built in to the computer. If you decided to use a audio than you Will have to get the web cam and have it put on to your computer. The way to choose if you should do the video or the audio is if the content requires you to have a picture.

Than a video would be just as good or even better. Because you can get the emotion and the expression of the subject. Also if you should do either video or audio. The video podcast is a lot harder you also have to make sure that you have the time to do it and the resources to do it. You also need to make sure that if you are going to do a video if you make a mistake than it is harder to edit it out. Than the audio you can't see the mistake as much as if you where watching it.

It also talked about if a teacher decides to make a audio or video. They tended to get too involved and not let the students come up with their own ideas. About how to do it or what topic the would like to talk about. Also how they would like to format it and contract the audio or the video.

The Podcast are neat I never thought about that there was something out there that you can either talk about or make a video. On just about any topic that you would like to talk about. Which is a very fascinating thing. Because millions and millions of people can watch it or listen to it all over the world.

This Episode 90 talked about using podcast in the class room as well as at the library. Also at home as well. It talked about recording the teacher in his or her lectures and being able to hear them again at home. Also having some students show examples of for instances like math problems etc. So that the students would get a different view of the lesson. So that they may see it in a different light.

The conversation was about pod casting with media coordinators. There was about 9,000 librarians speak there minds about the pod casting with the media. A lot of them agreed that it would benefit the students and have even more information out there for them. Also that they would have access to it if they ever had a question about something in the lecture or what the teacher was saying. They could go back to look.

The clip also talked about lets say you where moving to a new area and you wanted to find out more about the schools. You could go to the podcast and see what the schools activities ,and also what there are involved in as well. what there goals are as well as meet the teachers and also be able to see what the students said about the school.

Pod casting is a really neat thing to be able to have that kinda of information out there is incredible. One of the questions that he asked was Why should students still go to the library when it is only a click away? I had to stop and think about that because we are getting to the era that technology is all around us. But we still need the library because it introduces us to so much more and it is a little easier if you can just go the library and get the book. rather than search for it.

This audio cast talked about how to get teachers more involved with technology in the class room. Also how to get them more involved in other things like conference and that talk about the goals and long term goals as well. It talked about that students when they do a project that they shouldn't be so restricted on what they can do and what they can't do.

Although i do see the point in that because if you make the topic to broad than the student might get too carried away and the paper would ended up to be like 5 pages long when it only needed to be 2 pages. So teachers should have some restrictions on topics. But sometime it's nice to see even more information about a topic because you might learn something you didn't know about.

I think that it is important that teachers go to workshops and learn about other ways to teach or new products that are coming out. Because the world is changing so fast and we have to be able to keep up with it. I'm not saying that we need to know everything but it helps to know about somethings new that are coming out.

It is so important that we keep up with new products to help the teachers in the class room. Because they are coming out with new ways for teachers to teach. Also for students to learn. So that when students get there degrees they have some what of an idea of the kind of technology that is already out there.

This audio clip talks about camera's and the different kinds of them. Which ones are good. They say that it is good to switch around so that you get not just used to one camera. So that you can get all you can out of that camera. They talked about that you can go to google and look up the camera that you have and learn more about it. How it works and what all the features do to get the most out of your camera. They also talked about some of the things that come with the camera like the straps.

They talked about a rumor that cannon was coming out with a new camera called the EOS 7D. But they are not real sure if it is going to come out. They said that there is really no camera that is bad. It's just what your preference is if you want one that has a lot of zoom or meg pixels. It's really just which one you like the best.

They went on to talk about the mac computer and said it was good. They went on to ask viewers what they thought about the different cameras and which one that they liked best. Its really what you want it for to take pictures of everyday tings or if you are going to use it for your job. As a recorder or taking pictures. To go to a place that knows a lot about cameras to make sure that you get the right one for you.

They also did an interview with Jim Heid, who is a photographer ,and author etc. He help come up with the concept of I Life. For the i phone and it is a manual or book to help users figure out all the features. Also to be able to help the user out with any question he or she might have. He also continues to help with new versions.

This audio clip talked about the new program that apple is coming out with. It is called Snow leopard. They went on to talk about that it was a lot cheaper than windows xp. It's only about $30.00 dollars compared to the $50.00 or more for the windows xp. They also said that it was like min programs instead of like 150 programs crammed all in one.
They also said that this is one of the biggest upgrades that apple has done in a long time. Also that apple has a website that you can go and find the applications that are going to be on your computer and learn a little about what each one does. You can also find there that which ones that they are having trouble with. There was Harley anything negative said about the old apples programs and how much that they liked the Mac computers.
The I phone came up in the conversation about all the different things that it can do. It's funny the more that I have heard about the I phone The more I'd like to have it. They talked about an app on the I phone That you can take pictures of a area and convert them and send them to other people as a site for a movie. That this app would be a good one for movie makers.
It was also mentioned that this I phone was just a really neat device that has come out. I guess that we are getting to the time that sooner or later we are all going to have flying cars the way. They talk about all the technology that has come out or that is coming out. It's almost everyday that the technology is just one step in front of us.

(CNN) -- The Los Angeles coroner has concluded preliminarily that singer Michael Jackson died of an overdose of propofol, a powerful sedative he was given to help him sleep, according to court documents released Monday.

Los Angeles' coroner Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran reached that preliminary conclusion after reviewing toxicology results carried out on Jackson's blood, according to a search warrant and affidavit unsealed in Houston, Texas.
The affidavit outlines probable cause for search warrants of the offices of doctors who are believed to have treated Jackson.
The Associated Press is quoting a single law enforcement official, who says the L.A. County Coroner has ruled Michael Jackson's death a homicide. The Los Angeles County Coroner's office told CNN they had "no comment" on the report. An LAPD spokesman says the story did not come from their department.
The 32-page warrant said Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician, told a detective that he had been treating Jackson for insomnia for six weeks. Murray said each night he gave Jackson 50 mg of propofol, also known as Diprivan, diluted with the anesthetic lidocaine via an intravenous drip.
Worried that Jackson may have been becoming addicted to the drug, the Houston cardiologist said he attempted to wean him from it, putting together combinations of other drugs that succeeded in helping Jackson sleep during the two nights prior to his death.
But on June 25, other drugs failed to do the job, as he recounted to detectives in an hour-by-hour account that was detailed by detective Orlando Martinez of the Los Angeles Police Department:

This video was good I think that it is so important to have technology in the class rooms. It just opens the students minds so much. The teacher showing them how to blog in high school that's really cool. I can honestly say that I didn't know how to blog until I got to college. Most of my computer learning was done in college. I would have loved to gone to a different part of the world in high school.

The clip talked about that the teacher was using all kinds of technology everything she could get her hands on for her class room. That the teacher had traveled and talked to other teachers and brainstormed new ideas that they could come up with to help students learn better in the class room. It is amazing to me that we can do so much like blogging with other students half way around the world to having video cameras on our computers talking with people half way around the world. To 3D video on a computer or to making a website.


I would have never believed that we would have so many tools. That we can use in a class room its amazing. Like the computer or even a web cam that you can talk to some one miles even another country away. The possibilities are endless. It just makes you stop ,and think what else are they going to come out with next.


It just goes to show that everyday new ,and better ways to teach ,and bring new things to the class room. With technology their can never be a dull moment. Because every where you look their is technology. It will be very interesting to see what they come out with next to help teacher's teach students.

Next Generation Learning.

This video was incredible it was about using technology in the class rooms. It is so true what the boy said in the video that we have come a long way since writing on the boards with chalk to having slides in the class rooms to having computers in the classes as well. I think that using the wii and the computers like in the video will help the kids learn a more exciting way and gets them involved. Also uses their creativity to come up with ways to do projects for school.

I really wish that more schools where able to have the money to do things like that in the video with the wii and the computer on the wall that you can write on and get the kids more active in school I think that it helps them see, hear and participate in it so that they learn it instead of just listening and hearing it. Because we all know if you can participate in something you are more likely to retain it that just listening. Also making learning fun again for the kids is a big thing.


In the video they could go online ,and do their homework if they go on vacation. They can still do it with out getting behind on their school work. They could also access it from their phone. It was really neat to see that they can check out a computer in their library to take it home to do a paper or research on. That is just amazing that they have the resources to do that. Now tell me that's not cool or what. Their is so many things that are available for the students sometimes it just comes down to money unfortunately.

I hope that one day all schools will be able to have the resources to be able to have the technology to have that kind of learning in the class rooms. I think that it would help so much. Also get kids thinking ,and learning in a whole new way. I can't wait to see the future holds for kids in the class room. I guess we will have to wait ,and see.

That video opened my eyes. I had no idea that technology was evolving that fast. If you where a student trying to do anything with a computer by your second year of work the technology would be so far Head that it would you behind. That's just "wow" is all i can say. That's just incredible to think that if myspace was a country it would be the 5Th largest. It's just hard to comprehend. In the five minutes it took to watch the video that they are coming out with something more new ,and exciting for us to learn about.

Also to know that India has more honor kids than the United States it just doesn't see right. To know that students that are taking classes right know in college might not have a job when they graduate is really hard to think about. It just doesn't seem like that could be true. I mean it's great that the world is becoming that advance but what is next i mean "what happens if like computers start taking over jobs?" what then? Its fascinating that the Internet didn't take that long to reach everyone.

It is also amazing that their is a device that you can download music to and you can listen to it. You can take it with you ,and play it through the car radio. I bet people back then never thought that you could ever do that. It also talked about that in the course of the 5 minutes it took to watch the video in the US 67 children where born. It's a real eye opener to know that things are really happening everyday that many people are unaware of.

I mean think about it every time you go into a phone store their is always a new phone that can do more than the one that you own. So you get it and the next time their is other one with even more bells and whistles. I guess what I'm saying is that we all live in a world that is vastly changing ,and although we can't slow it down a little. We need to get one the train before it passes us by. Because their is so much ,and so many things that we haven't even been able to see yet. I can tell you one thing that I am looking forward to it to see what else is to come.

The Importance of Creativity.

Let me first say that I really enjoyed Ken Robinson's lecture it was creative and also keep you entertained while you where watching it. I have to say that I experienced some creativity from a teacher the first day of class. I wasn't sure when she came in with a big drum but it caught my attention as well as everyone else in the class. when she started playing it and we where asked to say our names after we had to say a saying that meant welcome. I do a agree with him so much of our schools focus on just the basics such as math, science and English etc. We need creativity in our children's life's.It helps them and us think out side the box rather than in it. It helps you come up with different ways of teaching and other things as well.

So many people think if you have a degree that is the only way you are ever going to make something of yourself. In today's life I would have to say that yes you do need the degree.You also need to have some creativity in your life as well so that you can be a more balance person. So that when you have that big project at work for your big company you can think outside the box to come up with a really great idea for your company or even for a student to be able to teach in a different way to help a student learn it .

We all need a little creativity in us because if we didn't we might be all a little boring ,and plain. Creativity makes our minds go beyond and lets us see that we can do other things. Like play a instruments ,and act in a play or even sing. It also shows us that their are other things that we can go besides the basics. Creativity is a great thing and should not be wasted but used.

Although many of us frown on creativity because we think it may hurt our children ,and we don't think that it is of any use to us because we have all the basics down and we don't think that we need any more. It can never hurt us to have a little creativity in us it is what makes us one of a kind ,and different from the other person.

My name is Laura Smith I'm 24 years old. I'm from Fairhope, AL I was born in Jackson, TN. where most of my family still lives the other part of my family lives in Flint, MI. My family ,and I moved down to Fairhope when I was only a year old. I have lived in Fairhope my whole life. My family and I have 19 American Quarter Horses. I show and compete in events with them mostly English events. My family and I have always been into horses ever since I could remember. We still have Horses but have not as many as we did. I just recently got engaged and I'm so excited I plan to get married after I graduate.


My mom and I still run and manage our horse farm while my dad runs a Chevy dealership up in Atmore, AL. My mom graduated from Michigan State. Both of my parents lived in Michigan all there lives. They where born and raised. As people would say true northerners. So u could say it took them some getting used to when they moved down to the south.

I graduated from Faulkner State in 2007. I received my first two years at Faulkner. I'm currently enrolled at the University of South Alabama. I plan on getting my degree in Elementary education. I really enjoy children and looking forward to the weeks ahead at college ,and learning all I can about this exciting field.
